Role: SEN Teaching Assistant
Start: September 2025
Location: Barking, East London
Contract: Full time (Monday - Friday)
Rate: £200 - £240 per day

Remedy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate candidate who is willing to support key stage 3 pupils with Autism and ADHD with within a SEN Secondary School. This highly rewarding 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant role would require you will be dealing with challenging behaviour and using various reinforcement strategies to provide support for these two boys. The pupil is on a EHCP and you will be following important guidelines and regulation procedures to best aid this pupil.
The ideal candidate:
- Experience working with students with behavioural challenges, preferably in an educational or special education setting.
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques, positive reinforcement strategies, and de-escalation methods.
- Ability to establish rapport and build positive relationships with students, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
Requirements:
- Previous child-based experience: A proven track record of working with children in an educational or supportive capacity.
- Experience with SEND: A solid understanding of and experience working with students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
- DBS on the update service: A valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check on the update service to ensure the safety and well-being of our students.
- Passion for education: A genuine enthusiasm for contributing to the educational development and well-being of young individuals.
