What skills and experience we're looking for
We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on individual with a passion for supporting practical learning. The ideal candidate will have:
• Good practical skills and confidence using a range of tools and machinery (both traditional and computer-controlled).
• Knowledge of COSHH and relevant Health and Safety legislation.
• Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
• Basic ICT skills, with a willingness to learn CAD software (e.g. Techsoft 2D Design, 3D modelling).
• A proactive, safety-conscious approach to working in a workshop environment.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
While experience in a school setting is desirable, it’s not essential—we’re more interested in your enthusiasm, reliability, and willingness to learn.
What the school offers its staff
At De Aston School, you’ll be joining a friendly, inclusive, and forward-thinking community. We offer:
• A well-resourced Design and Technology department with modern facilities and a wide range of equipment.
• A supportive team environment, including collaboration with a Food Technology Assistant Technician.
• A strong emphasis on high-quality, hands-on learning experiences for students.
• Excellent CPD and professional development opportunities.
• A school culture that values staff wellbeing and promotes a healthy work/life balance.
• A beautiful rural setting near the Lincolnshire Wolds, with easy access to the historic city of Lincoln.
Further details about the role
As a Technology Technician, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of Design and Technology across Key Stages 3 to 5. You’ll help prepare materials, maintain equipment, support lessons, and ensure a safe and efficient learning environment.
To apply, please complete the application form and send it, along with the self-declaration and equal opportunities monitoring forms, to Mrs Alice McNeill at vacancies@de-aston.lincs.sch.uk.
Interview date: Monday 7th July 2025 (we may interview earlier for the right candidate)
