LEGAL ADMINISTRATOR required at our NOTTINGHAM city centre office.
Bhatia Best are a leading firm based in the East Midlands who specialise in Criminal Defence, Family Law, Personal Injury, Public Law and Community Care.
We have an opportunity for a Legal Administrator to join our Criminal department at our Nottingham office.
This position would suit a candidate with good administrative and organisation skills.
Previous experience in a legal environment is preferred but not essential, as additional training will be offered. Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• Processing Legal Aid applications and dealing with amendments
• Processing invoices in accordance with office procedures
• Online diary management, to include hearings, filing dates etc.
• Chasing outstanding documents
• Drafting basic court documents and standard letters
• Processing Daily and Weekly Court Lists and reconciling against internal Case Management System
• Monitoring and processing communications incoming to the Department and logging to caseworker and matter file.
• Ensuring hearings/ meetings are flagged for allocation
• Setting up client appointments
• Liaising with clients, the courts, and other professionals both in person, by email, and by telephone.
• Opening and closing physical files
• Taking minutes of meetings
This is an office-based position.
The hours are Monday –Friday, 09:00 to 17:30 with one hour for lunch between 13:00 and 14:00.
