Our client is looking for:-
Department: Toolroom
Reports To: Toolroom Manager
Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 DOE
Key Responsibilities
• Manufacture and assemble precision blow mould and injection mould tooling.
• Conduct maintenance, repairs, and refurbishment of tools to minimise downtime.
• Interpret technical drawings, 3D CAD models, and tool specifications.
• Set up and operate manual and CNC machines (mills, lathes and grinders).
• Ensure work meets tight tolerances using precision measuring equipment.
• Assist with tooling development, modifications, and improvement projects.
• Collaborate with production, design, and quality teams to resolve tooling challenges.
• Maintain documentation of tooling maintenance schedules and activities.
• Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and quality standards.
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the toolroom
Skills & Experience Required
• Time-served Toolmaker with a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent.
• Proven experience with either blow mould or injection mould toolmaking from start to finish.
• Experience with conversational programming language e.g. Heidenhain
• Skilled in operating and programming manual and CNC workshop machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD data.
• Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• High level of precision and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable Skills
• Experience with hot runner systems and multi-cavity tooling.
• Knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks or Edgecam.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices or continuous improvement.
• Understanding of tool design principles.
• Experience with Blow Mould Tooling
