Summary
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
1. Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that support the Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity and performance.
2. Engage local audiences including community groups, individuals, education providers and volunteers by developing and delivering museum and gallery focused projects and programmes which are inclusive and enjoyable.
3. Contribute to the development and delivery of IMAG’s Audience Development Plan in collaboration with museum and art gallery colleagues.
4. Produce loan boxes, session templates, and other school-based learning materials that complement the curriculum.
5. Using a range of techniques ensure engagement activity, projects and programmes are appropriately evaluated.
6. Contribute to the promotion and development of digital engagement including Thinglink, Smartify and House of Memories App.
7. Promote museum and gallery activities by compiling the digital newsletter, contributing to the website, producing posters and flyers and creating regular social media posts.
8. Collaborate internally with High Life Highland (HLH) colleagues and with external organisations locally and nationally to create accessible and inclusive engagement.
9. Respond to day to day engagement queries and requests and deliver activities where appropriate and take the lead in HLH School’s Out Programme.
10. Recruit and develop volunteers to support engagement activities.
11. Identifying funding opportunities to support and promote participation in museum collections, including grant applications, corporate liaison, partnership building and fundraising campaigns.
12. Having regard to the implementation of appropriate Health and Safety measures particularly within public areas.
13. The post holder must be prepared to work flexibly and outside normal office hours.
14. Pursue continuous professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of Inverness Museum and Art Gallery and High Life Highland as a whole.
15. Attend and undertake any training online or in person.
16. Aim to reduce wastage and uphold our environmental values of being as sustainable as possible in all tasks.
17. Assist and support other areas of High Life Highland with particular projects, training or in the event of holidays or sickness working cross-functionally across the Inverness Museum and Art Gallery team.
