About the Role
We are looking for a Deputy Nursery Manager to help manage our Alton campus Nursery.
We are looking for someone who is caring, warm and enthusiastic. With the ability to motivate others. You will be a confident and credible communicator who is committed to delivering an out-standing nursery experience.
Some of your main responsibilities will consist of supporting Nursery Practitioners to deliver an outstanding Nursery provision that is of the highest quality, providing a safe and child centred envi-ronment that meets the needs of children and parents/carers. Coordinating with the Manager to effectively manage the daily running of the nursery in accordance with all relevant legislation, col-lege policies and local authority and Ofsted requirements. This also includes taking on roles and responsibilities of Manager when Manager is on leave or not in the Nursery. Liaising closely with parents/carers to ensure the highest levels of involvement.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
• Create, develop and maintain a safe, secure and supportive environment where babies and children thrive and grow as individuals, preparing them successfully to take their next steps confidently and with the skills they need
• Consistently work with high levels of professional integrity, safeguarding children and nur-turing them
• To support the Manager with the day to day management, staffing organisation and smooth running of the Nursery, ensuring that ratios, standards and conditions of registra-tion are maintained at all times
• Coordinate with the Manager to further develop and implement operational protocols and standards that maintain the Ofsted grade of good
• Build strong partnerships with parents/carers through day to day liaison, resolving any is-sues or complaints as they arise, encouraging the involvement of parents/carers at all levels of work within the Nursery, including regular reviews of children’s progress
• Coordinate with the Manager to develop links and a close working relationship with Hamp-shire County Council’s Early Years Team, and other support networks such as Educational Psychologists, INCO and S.A.L.T
Requirements
You will need:
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent applicable to role
• Level 4 Safeguarding
• Level 2 in Maths and English
• SENCO qualification
• Paediatric First Aid
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working within an Early Years setting
• Knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation
• Experience of effectively safeguarding children
