Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and professional ICT support to council staff, including Directors and Members.
- Accurately record and resolve various ICT inquiries and technical issues.
- Maintain a high standard of service desk operations, ensuring prompt issue resolution.
- Support a range of IT equipment, including desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones, printers, and servers.
- Troubleshoot and manage virtualisation technologies, SANs, backup solutions, and secure gateways (AV/Spam/Content Filters).
- Administer and support Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange, and Office 365 (including Teams).
- Handle networking technologies (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP) and ensure smooth connectivity.
- Interpret and resolve customer issues, escalating when necessary in line with corporate standards.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity in issue resolution.
- Organise and prioritise workload efficiently, adhering to deadlines and service requirements.
- Work on-site in an office-based role, five days per week.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a complex service desk environment.
- Strong expertise in desktop, laptop, tablet, and smartphone support.
- Knowledge of virtualisation, storage solutions, and corporate backup systems.
- Understanding of secure gateway technologies (AV, spam filtering, content filtering).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange, Office 365.
- Competency in networking technologies (DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP).
- Excellent problem-solving and issue resolution skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, catering to a diverse audience.
- A flexible approach to work with sound organisational and planning skills.
- Relevant qualifications/accreditations in:
- Microsoft Solutions
- Barracuda Solutions
- Dell Hardware (Desktops/Laptops)
- ITIL3/4 Certificatio
