Summary


We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and suitably experienced Assistant Psychologist to work into the Trent Regional Cleft Lip and Palate Service for 13 hours per week (0.35 WTE). Applicants should aspire to progressing to clinical psychology training, and have an interest in Clinical Health Psychology and gaining skills and experience in working with patients with physical health problems. The successful applicant will work within a multidisciplinary team that includes plastic surgeons, nurses, speech and language therapists, orthodontists and dentists. The role will involve clinical and non-clinical duties, the latter including administrative tasks, service development/audit and research as appropriate. The post holder will be predominantly based at City Hospital Campus but some travel around the Trent region will be required.

The successful applicant will join the Department of Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology. It is a supportive and well-respected department which incorporates specialisms in Paediatric Psychology, Adult Medical Psychology and Neuropsychology. There are excellent links with the University of Nottingham and the Trent Clinical Psychology Doctorate Course.

1.Working closely with the clinical psychologists and multidisciplinary Cleft Lip and Palate team to offer psychological care to those born with a cleft lip and/or palate across the lifespan

2.Collecting data and ensuring accurate record keeping

3. Engaging in regular continuing professional development (CPD)

4. Assisting in service development/audits and research where required

5. Engaging in regular clinical supervision

6. Maintaining standards of clinical record keeping including entries in electronic health records and report writing



7. Working in accordance with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust practice guidelines, policies and standards and abide by the current Codes of Practice as outlined by the British Psychological Society
