Location: Twickenham, Southwest LondonThe School is seeking an enthusiastic and flexible Finance Assistant to join a small, busy Finance Team. The successful candidate will assist the Bursar and the Finance Manager in ensuring financial procedures, systems, budgetary and internal controls operate effectively and are maintained to the highest standards, complying with the School’s legal obligations and requirements. Previous experience of tendering and purchasing procedures and monitoring budgets would be required as well as a willingness to learn the payroll process in order to support the Bursar and the Finance Manager. There would be a requirement to occasionally help out on Reception in busy periods or to cover absences so the successful candidate should have good interpersonal skills and be able to deal with queries from parents, pupils and staff. The successful candidate:
• will be highly motivated and efficient individual who can work on their own but be part of the wider centralised Finance Function.• must be an effective communicator, with strong interpersonal skills and be able to develop good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Must have the ability to prioritise a busy workload and meet deadlines of varying timescales.
• will be prepared to work flexibly, independently, sometimes under pressure, and always with a ‘can and will do’ attitude.
• will need to demonstrate that you have a good working knowledge and level of competence in using Excel and Word coupled with great attention to detail and high standards of accuracy.
• must be able to think in a logical and systematic manner.• must have a high level of personal integrity and confidentiality.• Does not need to have worked in a school environment before but a passion for helping improve the education of our students through providing high quality finance support is desirable.Please view the attached job application pack.
