Who We Are
At Prosperos CES Team, we specialise in designing bespoke education packages for children and young people across the North East.
Many of the children we work with have SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) and have become disengaged from learning. We support pupils that have struggled to stay in the classroom, who feel too anxious to go to school or whose needs aren't sufficiently supported at school.
We offer an alternative - education with empathy, tailored to meet each young person where they are.
Who Were Looking For
Were on the lookout for compassionate, resilient tutors in County Durham who can reignite a passion for learning and help young people believe in themselves again.
Whether youre a qualified teacher, experienced tutor, or have worked in a therapeutic or supportive setting with children, wed love to hear from you.
Your Role
As a SEND Specialist Tutor, youll plan and deliver 1:1 lessons that:
- Support and re-engage pupils with learning
- Reintroduce structure and stability to their daily routine
- Promote educational development
- Ultimately, support their reintegration into school
Each placement is unique, typically part-time and scheduled during school hours, Monday to Friday. Youll submit weekly progress reports and receive ongoing support from our team.
What Youll Need
- QTS or equivalent teaching experience
- Experience with SEND, challenging behaviour, or disengaged pupils
- Creativity, patience, and the ability to think outside the box
- Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service) or willingness to apply
- Right to work in the UK
- Two professional, child-related references
- PECs or Makaton training is a bonus, but not essential.
Job Details
· Location: Across Northumberland (we aim to keep you local)
· Start Date: ASAP
· Duration: Ongoing - until the student reintegrates
· Hours: Minimum 10 hours/week per student (flexible to suit family needs)
· Pay: GBP25-GBP30 per hour
· Contract: Temporary - Full-time or Part-time
