About the Role:
As a Cover Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining high-quality learning experiences for pupils in the absence of their usual teacher. You'll have the opportunity to teach across different year groups, delivering engaging lessons and ensuring a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Delivering pre-planned lessons that align with the curriculum ✔ Adapting lessons to suit pupils' needs and learning styles ✔ Managing classroom behaviour effectively, fostering a safe and inclusive environment ✔ Providing constructive feedback and assessing pupil progress ✔ Supporting children with SEND or additional needs where required ✔ Collaborating with school staff to ensure continuity of learning ✔ Engaging pupils in exciting and interactive lessons ✔ Safeguarding children and ensuring their welfare remains a priority
Desirable Attributes:
Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) ✔ Experience working across Secondary year groups ✔ Strong classroom management skills ✔ Ability to differentiate lessons to support all learners ✔ Enthusiastic and committed to providing high-quality education ✔ Understanding of SEND and supporting pupils with additional needs ✔ Highly organised, with excellent communication skills
