Head Science Technician / Science Technician
Start date: 1st September 2025, 5 days per week (Mon-Fri) 37 hours per week (term time only)
(Head Science Technician would work 1 x inset day in Sept).
Head Science Technician: Point 18 - 21 £26,255.55-£27,592.43 Actual salary (FTE £30,559-£32,115).
Science Technician: Point 7-10 £21,883 - £22,953.05 Actual salary (FTE £25,584 - £26,835).
We are looking to appoint an excellent Science Technician/Head Science Technician to work in our outstanding science department. The successful candidate will have excellent organisational skills and a good understanding of science practical work and related Health and Safety requirements. Previous experience of preparing practical resources and school administrative duties would be an advantage as would experience of leading a team. Ofsted assessed Balcarras in 2005, 2009, 2014 and 2025 as “Outstanding” in every category.
