Are you a STEM graduate seeking meaningful experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)?

Are you considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, speech and language therapy, or a related field?

A progressive secondary school in Wolverhampton is looking for a motivated and compassionate Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their support team this September. This full-time, term-time role is perfect for STEM graduates aiming to build real-world experience in education and student support.

Key Details:

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM


  • Pay: Up to £550 per week


  • Start Date: September 2025


  • Contract: Academic year with potential for a permanent role


    Role Responsibilities:

    • Provide tailored academic and emotional support to students with a range of SEN, including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties


    • Deliver small group and one-to-one interventions focused on engagement and progress in STEM subjects


    • Support learning plans and behaviour strategies alongside teaching and pastoral teams


    • Work collaboratively with SENCOs, educational psychologists, and external professionals


    • Gain valuable experience relevant for further training or postgraduate studies in education or mental health fields


      Candidate Profile:

      • A recent STEM graduate (2:1 or above preferred) in a subject such as Maths, Science, Engineering, or Technology


      • Passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people


      • Patient, proactive, and strong in communication and problem-solving


      • Any prior experience in mentoring, tutoring, or working with young people with additional needs is a plus
