The role of the Associate Director (AD) of Radiology / Imaging is to provide strong local leadership to the Radiology / Imaging department and to balance strategic plans with operational needs and robust delivery. Alongside the Clinical Director, the post holder will ensure that Radiology / Imaging services provide high quality patient services that are clinically sound, delivered cost effectively and which meet the Trusts priorities and performance targets. As part of the Clinical Support Services (CSS) Management Team and in conjunction with the Divisional Director of Operations, provide operational leadership to the Radiology / Imaging Services. Working in partnership with the Senior Delivery Team, General Managers, Operational Managers and other management and professional leads (within and outside of the Division) ensure high quality, safe and effective patient services. The postholder will work with and deputise for the Divisional Director of Operations and represent the Trust Radiology / Imaging service, developing partnerships, sharing best practice, and integrating knowledge within the Trust. Work with the Divisional Director of Operations and Chief of Service in the translation and delivery of both Divisional and Trust-wide clinical service strategies, corporate and divisional objectives and the development and implementation of business plans and service developments and ensure it aligns to Radiology / Imaging strategies. This role provides leadership and managerial direction across the budgets for the Radiology / Imaging services to help lead the strategic development of Services in line with the Trusts overall strategy and Integrated Business Plan Work with the DDOs of all divisions and Chief of Services in the translation and delivery of both Pathology Services strategies, corporate and divisional objectives and the development and implementation of business plans and service developments to aid sustainable delivery of performance. The AD of Radiology / Imaging Services will provide strategic leadership at senior management level and divisionally, ensuring that there are appropriate systems and processes within Radiology / Imaging to enable staff to deliver good quality clinical care and drive forward the service improvement agenda to achieve efficiency gains and improve the operational effectiveness of Radiology / Imaging. Ensure effective liaison with commissioners, ICB, & NHS England and that joint working and positive working relationships are developed and sustained. Engender effective partnerships with all stakeholders across the locality and service and Provide leadership to the Surrey Sussex Imaging Network and ensure Radiology / Imaging services are aligned with Trust and Network objectives. Establish strong links with the wider health and social care community by securing their involvement in the effective delivery of services. Lead the department to ensure national and local targets are achieved and that they meet the needs of the local community and the wider NHS and fulfil commissioner agreements. Ensure that quality, performance, constitutional standards, CIPs and budgetary targets are monitored, and interim plans are devised where necessary to enable compliance and achievement. To provide professional leadership and management for a Trust wide service, including the development of strategic frameworks which are robust, auditable and concur with acceptable best practice. Provide a combination of subject matter expertise and management skills to develop a strong service delivery. Work with professional leads across the organisation to ensure that the Trust can evidence its compliance with national policies and standards. Establish business processes and procedures that satisfy the Trusts statutory obligations. Represent the Trust within the NHS and community, and with other partner organisations, working closely with them to institute integrated working in the best interests of patient care. To be an active participant of the Director on call rota throughout the year.
