Start date: September 2025 - Casual contract - hours as required, we hold regular Governing Board meetings throughout the year.
Are you highly organised, detail-oriented, and interested in supporting local education governance? The East Reading Federation (Alfred Sutton Primary and Redlands Primary School) is seeking a dedicated Clerk to the Governing Board to join us from September 2025.
This is a key role providing vital administrative and procedural support to the Governing Board across our federation of schools.
You will work closely with the Chair of Governors and Headteachers to ensure the smooth running of meetings and compliance with legal and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare agendas and documentation in consultation with the Chair and Headteachers
• Attend and minute Governing Board and committee meetings (usually during term time, including some evenings)
• Maintain accurate records of meetings and decisions
• Provide advice to governors on procedural and legislative matters
• Support with administrative tasks such as managing policies and records
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has excellent organisational, communication and IT skills
• Is able to work independently, manage their own workload, and meet deadlines
• Understands or is willing to learn about governance in education (training will be provided)
• Maintains confidentiality and acts with integrity at all times
