A little about myself:
I am a 16-year-old girl, and I live with my dad. I have just turned 16 and I have a direct payments package which will help me to start to build some age-appropriate independence away from my dad now I am getting older. I would ideally like a female PA who will support me to access activities of my choice, as well as helping me to learn how to behave in everyday social situations.
I have been diagnosed with Downs Syndrome, learning difficulties and hypermobility. I am a friendly, sociable young lady; however, I can be shy when I first meet people. My Dad would like for someone to spend time getting to know me at home before we go out anywhere.
Hours of work:
4 hours per week – term time
8 hours per week – school holidays
PA: Female
Driver: Yes
Rate of pay: £12.75 per hour
Tasks involved.
• Supporting me to access activities of my choice in the local community and initially in my home.
• I need someone who is firm as I can become a little silly when I am excited or nervous.
Type of person required:
• Someone with a caring and responsible attitude
• Someone who is reliable and punctual
• I would prefer to have a female PA
• Someone who is willing to undertake any training identified as relating to the post e.g. Manual Handling Course, Basic First Aid
• Someone who is experienced in working with young people who have additional needs
• I would like a PA who is calm, reliable, friendly and upbeat
