Clinical Psychologist in Paediatric Cardiology 0.2wte Band 8A (12 months Fixed Term Maternity Cover)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Psychology Service for a period of 12 months to provide maternity leave cover for a 0.2wte, Band 8a clinical psychology position in Paediatric Cardiology. It is essential that the post-holder has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and will be HCPC registered by the time of commencing in post.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist / Neuropsychologist who is interested in expanding their expertise and experience in providing highly specialist therapeutic intervention and assessment to children with cardiac/physical health conditions.

The role supports children and their families referred by the Paediatric Cardiology Team. The post-holder will also be involved in working alongside the multidisciplinary team, in leading psychosocial meetings, and in collaborating with wider Cardiology network. They will also offer consultation and training to colleagues and clinical supervision for assistant and trainee clinical psychologists, and/or other staff members, as appropriate.

Whilst working autonomously, applicants will be joining an expanding and supportive Paediatric Psychology team. Appropriate clinical supervision will be provided by Clinical Psychologists/Neuropsychologists within the Paediatric Psychology Service.

The successful applicant will be welcomed to the Department of Clinical Psychology & Neuropsychology within the Trust. We are a large department of Clinical Psychologists and Neuropsychologists working across a number of medical inpatient and outpatient services within the Trust including: Adult Medical Outpatient Service, Adult and Paediatric Neurology Services and Neurorehabilitation, Stroke, Paediatrics, Burns, Cystic Fibrosis, Oncology, Cleft Lip and Palate, Haematological Cancers, Major Trauma, Neonatal, Adult and Paediatric Intensive / Critical Care, Renal and Sickle Cell. We have excellent links with the University of Nottingham and regional Clinical Psychology Doctorate Courses.
