Are you looking for a change in career? Looking for somewhere where you can enjoy a fulfilling workday, giving the best to lovely clients and patients, but also where you can get the best for you; time to recharge? If so then look no further!
Our client is an independent, family-run practice located on the outskirts of the breath taking Lake District National Park, and they are looking for a dedicated mixed animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their team.
It is an exciting time to join the team as building work is underway on their brand-new premises, an old Victorian manor house, and they are just weeks away from moving into the much larger site. This modern, purpose-built facility is fully equipped with state-of-the-art kennels and gold standard cattery, an imaging suite, dental suite, theatre, and three consult rooms.
They are searching for an individual who possesses a genuine enthusiasm for traditional mixed practice, combined with a strong desire to contribute to the growth of their small animal caseload which comprises of approximately 75% small animal and 25% large with a good split between dairy, beef and sheep with some Equine. They also have a slightly increased amount of exotics filtering through the door too.
Currently the team consists of 5 vets with veterinary certificate holders in equine practice and small animal medicine. They are also a RCVS accredited nurse training practice with an amazing nursing team of 3 RVNs and 3 SVNs, one of whom holds a diploma in canine behaviour.
Our client takes great pride in supporting the professional development of their staff and encourages them to pursue their personal areas of interest. Outside of work they all enjoy a good laugh, including getting together for a night on the town, meeting for a meal of their annual family summer BBQ and Christmas parties, where a good time is had by all.
The ideal candidate would be someone with a couple of years experience. Someone who would be reasonably confident with common out of hours scenarios to include cow and canine caesareans. Although they are predominantly small animal, the position would include some farm work (fertility, calving's, sick cows, castrates, tb tests etc) from time to time.
The Rota:
• Full time role – 4 day week
• 1 regular night per week on call (day off after night on call)
• 1:4 OOH rota with 3 day week after weekend on call
The Benefits:
• Competitive salary up to £50,000 DOE
• Accommodation available
• Generous CPD budget
• Professional fees paid
• Career progression opportunities
• Generous holiday allowance
• Visas sponsored
