We are a small team of dedicated and experienced physiotherapists, who are committed to continuous improvement.
We are dedicated to staff development. We have a strong culture of service and quality improvement, which is supported by regular in-service training and supervision.
This post provides opportunity to develop both clinical skills and develop special areas of interest within a supportive team of therapists. The Clinical caseload will include a variety of childhood conditions
Working alongside experienced band 7, band 6 and PTA staff you will be given opportunities to provide:
We have developed exciting joint working opportunities with OTs and SLTs and have many MDT pathways in place. In addition, there will be opportunities for you to work alongside other members of the multidisciplinary team including paediatricians in specialist clinics.
§To take responsibility for the provision of assessment, diagnosis, and intervention of children referred to the service in a range of settings including clinics/health centers, and schools.
§To provide a service which takes account of the needs of clients from a range of ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
§To explain/raise awareness and understanding of the role of physiotherapist to visitors, students and volunteers, other health professionals, carers, clients and the general public.
§To provide a client-centered Physiotherapy service to children (0-18years) who live or attend School in Newham and have additional needs.
§To work as an autonomous practitioner in managing a clinical caseload by applying knowledge and skills to the assessment of the needs of this client group. From the assessment, being able to formulate an appropriate treatment plan designed to reduce the impact of disability and ill heath.
§Following completion of the Band 5 Learning Programme (approximately 4-6 months) to be able to manage a full caseload independently and with support, in doing so developing problem solving and clinical reasoning skills in line with evidence based/ client centered principles.
§To contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of the Physiotherapy Therapy Service for Children and contribute to development of the newly frmed MDT Children’s Therapy Service.

1. To manage a caseload of children aged up to 18 years with a range of conditions that are impacting on their functional mobility or movements or developmental progress
2. To complete assessments, writing individual reports and programmes, implementing groups, providing advice to parents and schools and reviewing outcomes with a functional based focus.
3. Work as part of the Physiotherapy service and with members of the wider MDT within Specialist Services for Children and Young People.
4. To work alongside teaching assistants, teachers, families and carers to achieve outcomes for individual clients, providing support, programmes, ideas, advice and assessment
