Crynodeb
Thorn Baker are currently seeking an experienced Plater Welder with a strong background in structural steel to join our clients growing team in Staveley, Chesterfield. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be involved in a variety of projects within the structural steel sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Fabricate and assemble one off or small batch structural steel pieces.
- Weld steel parts to exact specifications.
- Perform quality checks to ensure finished work meets safety and quality standards.
- Work with minimal supervision, ensuring a high standard of workmanship.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Plater Welder, particularly within the structural steel industry.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and processes.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards in a workshop environment.
- Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.
- A valid welding certification (preferred but not essential).
Benefits:
- Pay £16ph whilst on probation, this could increase to up to £18ph once permanent dependant on skills.
- Temp to permanent opportunity
- Monday to Thursday 6:00am - 16:30pm, Fridays off
