HGV Mechanic (Droitwich)

Location: Worcestershire
Basic Salary: £40,000 - £50,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week
Shifts: Alternating – 8:00am to 4:30pm / 3:00pm to 11:00pm

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter to join a busy and established team in Droitwich. You'll be responsible for maintaining commercial vehicles and trailers to MOT standard in a professional, well-equipped environment.

Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter

• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standards
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently
• Attend breakdowns at roadside or customer premises
• Work safely and professionally in line with health and safety regulations
• Liaise with the parts department to order required components
• Complete job cards and service sheets accurately and on time
• Keep your work area clean and maintain high workshop standards
• Engage in ongoing product training and maintain up-to-date technical knowledge

Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic /HGV Fitter
Essential

• Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3) or proven experience in HGV maintenance
• Full UK driving licence
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
• Understanding of health and safety practices

Desirable

• LGV/HGV licence
• ADR qualification
• Experience with a wide range of commercial vehicles
