Summary
We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our clients team in a fast-paced packing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials efficiently while ensuring safety and compliance with company policies. This role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Duties
Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load and unload goods from lorries and storage areas.
Will be required to do bagging. Move various quantities of weight while swinging.
Perform shipping and receiving tasks, ensuring accurate documentation of inventory movements.
Handle materials with care, adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage.
Maintain an organised packing environment, ensuring that all items are stored correctly and safely.
Assist in inventory management as and when required.
Engage in heavy lifting as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to avoid injury.
May be required to help with packing as and when required.
Requirements
Must have a valid counterbalance license.
Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse/packing setting is essential.
Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes, as well as materials handling best practices.
Basic maths skills for accurate counting and inventory management.
Ability to lift heavy loads safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are required for maintaining an orderly workspace.
Hours are Monday to Friday 6am to 6pm. Saturdays also required during peak periods between 6 to 12 hours.
Pay is between £13.25 and £13.50 per hour. Overtime after 40 hours at time and half ( £19.88 - £20.25 per hour)
