Job description

Jennifer Griffiths Recruitment are seeking to appoint a multi skilled engineer for our client in the Bridgend area. The Multi-Skilled Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance and repair of production, machinery across the site. The role involves trouble shooting, diagnosing faults, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance and improving equipment performance to maximise production efficiency, safety and product quality.

Key Responsibilities :

Ensure the safety, maintenance, and efficiency of all equipment on site.
Conduct regular maintenance checks and servicing of machinery — electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
Troubleshoot faults across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, control gear, and PLC systems.
Perform property, facilities, and general building maintenance duties as required (e.g., heating, water, lighting systems, emergency light testing, basic plumbing, light bulb replacement).
Monitor and execute planned preventative maintenance activities, including annual inspection and testing of electrical equipment (desirable).
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, including out-of-hours calls, to diagnose, repair, and restore machinery.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations during maintenance and repair activities.
Follow safety protocols when working with machinery and electrical systems.
Assist in conducting risk assessments related to engineering processes.
Implement modifications or improvements to machinery and processes to optimise performance and reduce costs.
Identify and source replacement parts, ensuring cost-effective procurement.
Ensure compliance with customer policies and standards.

Experience in electrical and mechanical maintenance within manufacturing operations.

Experience:

Previous experience working in an engineering role is essential.

Education/Qualifications:

Engineering experience- electrically and mechanically skilled
An engineering based NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification
Awareness of Health and Safety legislation and regulations.

Hours of Work

Day shift hours to be agreed (relatively flexible with other Engineer)

Salary:

Competitive and dependent on experience.

Other Information:

A full driving licence is preferred.
The successful candidate must be flexible with working hours to meet business needs.
