Crynodeb
The post is for one year and is suitable for a person with either basic or little UK anaesthetic and ICU experience. The post will be employed at ST1/2 level supervision. The duties of the post will be to provide care for patients working with the department of anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. Support for development in areas such as clinical audit and participation in unit research will be offered. The department operates a full shift system and integrates Anaesthetic trainees, Clinical Fellows and Speciality Doctors on the same tier rotas. There are 3 on call rotas for juniors in the Anaesthetic/ICU department and during 1 year you will be expected to be in Rota 2:ICU rota. The rotas are all full shift and resident on call: Rota 1Theatres 1:6 rota of weekends and twilights (without any overnight shifts 2200-0700hrs) Rota 2ICU I:9 rolling rota currently with some busy weeks and some very light weeks. Nights on call grouped into 3 or 4 night runs for continuity of patient care. Rota 3Obstetric rota 1:7 Individual nights grouped into 3 or 4 night runs The rotas are compliant with the New Deal and European Working Time Directive.
