Job Details
To raise awareness and understanding of young carers (5-18yrs) across schools in East Lothian Council. To support schools to identify, assess and provide support planning for young carers, following requirements of Carer (Scotland) Act 2016. To ensure young carers receive appropriate support by signposting to both universal and additional support from partner statutory, community and voluntary organisations and contributing to the delivery of direct support to young carers.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
Educated to HNC or SVQ Level 3 in a related subject such as Community Education or Youth Work with previous experience working collaboratively with children and young people, families, schools and other professionals.
Commitment to undertake in-house training.
Driving Licence
A full current driving licence is desirable for this post.
PVG Membership
This post is considered as a Regulated Role with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020.
All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
