• Higher Qualifications in relevant subject eg Degree

Essential Experience/Knowledge

• Finance and budget management inc Monitoring and reporting.

• A working knowledge of MS Office and other IT systems

• Premises Management and Health & Safety Compliance
• Effectively leading and managing staff teams
• Working within school policies and procedures

Desirable Experience

• Being part of or contributing to the Senior Leadership Team
• Generating income including preparation of and submission of bids
• Marketing and promotion inc website and social media
• Identifying and implementing strategic priorities

What the school offers its staff

Hillside Specialist School & College is a Lancashire County Council Special School for students with Autism.

We offer a friendly school with staff teams who provide excellent peer support, pupils who are keen to attend school and want to learn. Hillside staff have the benefit of free membership to health and wellbeing services which include Wellbeing clinics, Nurse support services, GP 24-hour phone consultations, Physio and Counselling programmes.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, inspirational and talented Grade 9 School Business Manager who can bring financial acumen and strong managerial skills to our successful School. As School Business Manager you will be making a positive impact on the lives and education of all our young people and supporting the wider school community.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity with the successful candidate forming part of the Senior Leadership Team providing vision, knowledge and expertise in School Business Management. You will possess excellent interpersonal, management and leadership skills and will be responsible for all aspects of school finance, ensuring financial stability, securing financial partnerships to secure new sources of funding, HR, management of the school site including health and safety, GDPR and support with ICT.

You must be able to work calmly under pressure, communicate effectively with different stakeholders and be able to organise your own workload, directing colleagues around you according to priorities.

The role is currently 37 hours per week 40 weeks of the year. This is subject to review for full year working.
