Job responsibilities Phlebotomy Chaperoning duties Urine Dips Vaccinations and Immunisations [once fully trained] Administration of prescribed medications under PSDs Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted Measuring patients for compression stockings Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being Movement of clinical waste for collection from consultation rooms Other Responsibilities Health and Safety The post-holder will assist in promoting and maintaining their own and others health, safety and security as defined in the PCN Health & Safety Policy, the PCN Health & Safety Manual, and the PCN Infection Control policy and published procedures. This will include: Making effective use of training to update knowledge and skills Using appropriate infection control procedures, maintaining work areas in a tidy and safe way and free from hazards Actively reporting of health and safety hazards and infection hazards immediately when recognised Keeping own work areas and general / patient areas generally clean, assisting in the maintenance of general standards of cleanliness consistent with the scope of the job holders role Undertaking periodic infection control training (minimum annually) Reporting potential risks identified Equality and Diversity To carry out at all times their responsibilities in line with Equal Opportunities Policy and Procedure Risk Management and Clinical Governance To work within the Clinical Governance Framework of the PCN, incorporating Risk Management and all other quality initiatives and all aspects of CQC implementation. Confidentiality To maintain confidentiality of information relating to patients, clients, staff and other users of the services in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 including outside of the work environment.
