We are looking for an experienced CDM Surveyor to join our team. You’ll be responsible for diagnosing and resolving property defects, particularly damp and condensation issues, through expert assessment, repairs, and advice. Your role will help minimise legal disrepair claims and ensure compliance with landlord obligations in litigation and housing safety regulations.
Using your specialist surveying knowledge, you’ll conduct building pathology assessments, specify and rectify defects, and oversee expert contractors. You will compile detailed schedules of work, manage resources effectively, and carry out post-inspections to ensure high-quality repairs. Working closely with legal representatives, you will prepare reports, challenge expert recommendations, and act as an expert witness in court when needed.
A key part of your role will be negotiating case settlements, identifying cost-effective repair solutions, and ensuring best practices are shared across the team. You’ll also manage disrepair records, monitor budgets, and oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and health and safety regulations.
With excellent problem-solving and communication skills, you will work collaboratively to deliver high-quality services for customers. If you are a dedicated professional ready to make a difference, apply now to join our team.
This role is full time and available as an 18 month fixed term contract with travel across Bristol and Gloucestershire. An enhanced DBS check and a full UK driving license are required.
You will have:
- Experience in contract management within asset management or construction.
- Strong knowledge of disrepair legislation, including The Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018 and Housing Health and Safety Rating System
- Extensive background in repairs, maintenance, sustainability, and contract administration
- Solid understanding of landlord and tenant legislation, including leaseholder consultation
- Chartered membership with RICS, CIOB, or equivalent
- Relevant construction qualification (HNC, degree, or equivalent)
The closing date is 26 June.
