About the role

Following a successful funding application to NHS England for Mentoring Opportunities for Aspiring Clinical Psychologists from Ethnic Minorities we are seeking an Assistant Psychologist/Research Associate to support the co-ordination, project management and evaluation of our mentoring programme for Aspiring Clinical Psychologists from racialised groups. Working in collaboration with the Programme Director and course team the postholder will ensure that the mentoring scheme is appropriately designed, co-ordinated, disseminated and evaluated to determine outcomes and areas for improvement.
We are looking for a motivated psychology graduate committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion in the clinical psychology profession and ideally someone who aspires to become a Clinical Psychologist themselves. This is a temporary part-time opportunity, 2 days per week. The post holder would become part of the clinical psychology programme team based at University of Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent campus but it is likely that flexible working arrangements will be available given the associated responsibilities and part-time nature of the role.
Main Responsibilities
Applicants should have a first degree in psychology at 2.1 or above, conferring GBC status, or an undergraduate degree in another subject with subsequent completion of a conversion course in psychology. Sound organisational and communication skills are required, as well as competence in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Forms, Teams and SPSS. Experience of qualitative and quantitative research methods is desirable.
