Crynodeb
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Strategic Procurement & Compliance Manager (maternity cover) to lead on delivering our procurement and contract management strategy. You will lead the Council’s Procurement team ensuring that procurement activity is compliant with regulations and achieves best value for the Council and its stakeholders, as well as overseeing risk management and insurance, providing high quality advice and support to members, senior leaders and service teams across the Council.
You will ensure the Council meets it’s professional and legal requirements in respect of procurement and to effectively manage procurement risk. You will have six direct reports and lead a team of dedicated professionals: five within the procurement and contract management team, and one insurance & risk officer.
About you:
You’ll have extensive experience leading procurement projects within local government. You will be adept at building positive working relationships with senior management and the wider organisation. We’re looking for someone who has a thorough understanding of procurement legislation and regulations within the public sector. You’ll also have a high level of inter-personal and ICT skills.
