We’re looking for three passionate and community-focused Energy Advisers to join our impactful project across Huntingdonshire, Fenland, and East Cambridgeshire.
This community-based service supports vulnerable households in rural areas to reduce energy costs, improve home comfort, and lower carbon emissions. As an adviser, you’ll work directly with local communities to deliver measurable social, economic, and environmental benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored energy advice in accessible community spaces and client homes.
• Help households manage energy use to build financial resilience.
• Promote sustainable practices and energy efficiency.
• Strengthen community ties and ensure equitable access to support.
• Build strong relationships with partners, stakeholders and community groups
What We’re Looking For:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A passion for social impact and environmental sustainability
• A proactive attitude with the passion and drive to support vulnerable people in their communities, manage your own workload effectively, and contribute to the development and long-term success of the project.
Role Details:
• Location: One of the three regions – Huntingdonshire, Fenland, or East Cambridgeshire
(with travel to meetings or other offices/locations as required)
• Hours: Full time (37 hours FTE) and part time hours available
• Salary: £25,762.36 - £29,225.56 per annum (pro-rata, depending on experience)
• Contract Type: Fixed term to 30th June 2027
• Reporting to: Community Energy Advice Project Lead
About the Project
This project delivers a community-based energy advice and advocacy service, supporting vulnerable households experiencing fuel poverty. The goal is to empower residents to manage energy challenges sustainably and effectively, improving lives while contributing to carbon reduction goals.
Citizens Advice Rural Cambs is an independent local charity supporting residents in Fenland and Huntingdonshire by providing free independent, confidential and impartial advice. We also support clients in East Cambridgeshire through various projects.
Our aim is to provide the advice people need for the problems they face and to improve the policies and practices that affect people’s lives.
