The Role

We are looking for a dynamic Front of House Supervisor to join our team at Magdalen College School, Oxford.You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless daily dining operations and delivering exceptional service for prestigious events, including formal dinners, receptions, and school celebrations.

  • Location: Magdalen College School, Cowley Place, Oxford, OX4 1DZ

  • Contract Type: Permanent

  • Shift Pattern: 5 out of 7days

  • Hours: 27.5 hours per week

  • Rate of Pay: £13.91 per hour

What You’ll Be DoingDaily Operations:
  • To assist the kitchen team in the daily briefing for all Dining Room Staff
  • The completion of the daily pre-service checklists
  • To ensure the recording of temperatures for all meal services
  • To Act as the Allergen Champion.
  • To ensure all cleaning duties are completed by your team as per the rota
  • To assist other members of staff working in the dining room as this may be required from time to time
  • To train with the assistance of the Deputy Manager, all FOH staff on a weekly basis
  • To report any defects in equipment premise to the management or your supervisor
  • To report any breaches of Health and Safety regulation
  • To supervise Food Service Assistants for all catering, both core and retail outlets
  • To communicate well with colleagues, customers, students and staff
  • To comply with Sodexo and legal processes and procedures surrounding health and safety and food safety
  • To attend meetings and training sessions as required both onsite and off site
  • To take part in deep cleaning programme with rest of onsite team as and when required
  • To report all feedback to the management team
  • To carry out any reasonable tasks requested by the management
What You’ll Bring
  • Experience of working within education environment.
  • Basic food hygiene and health and safety qualifications would be desired but not essential.
  • Great customer service skills
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Experience of managing a team as well as being a hands-on manager when required
  • Flexible approach to the role as some of these events will happen outside of normal working hours.
