Location: Lewes, East Sussex Pay: £14.70 per hour (PAYE) Hours: 21 hours per week (up to 25 hours with overtime available) Schedule: Monday to Friday, all mornings and 2–3 evenings per week

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate, proactive, and reliable Support Worker & Housekeeper to support a friendly and independent woman in her 30s living with hEDS, ME, and Autism. This is a varied role that combines personal care, housekeeping, and community support. You’ll be working both in her home and out in the community, helping to maintain a comfortable and engaging daily life.

Personal grooming
Eating and drinking assistance
Housekeeping
Shopping
Transportation
Looking after pets
Gardening
Key Responsibilities

Morning shifts (5 days/week – 3 hours each):

Cleaning, tidying, and general housekeeping
Assistance with personal care, dressing, and hygiene
Preparing breakfast
Walking and feeding a small dog (Frenchie/Pug mix)
Afternoon/Evening shifts (2–3 days/week – 3 hours each, ad hoc):

Food preparation
Support for outings and appointments
Help accessing community activities and services
Additional Tasks May Include:

Driving to appointments and activities
Support with makeup and hair when needed
Assisting with wheelchair use (pushing/lifting)
Emotional and practical support for health-related needs
Maintaining a clean, calm, and clutter-free home environment
Candidate qualities:

Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
Able to tolerate the employer smoking in the workplace
Reliable with good timekeeping
Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Must be comfortable with pets
The Ideal Candidate

1+ year of housekeeping experience
Warm, friendly, and confident personality
Empathetic, respectful of boundaries, and a great communicator
Enjoys being sociable and spending time outdoors
Comfortable around animals and smokers (client is a smoker)
Proactive and organised – someone who takes initiative and adapts well
Requirements

Full UK driving licence, no recent accidents
Access to a vehicle for work use English fluency GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Must be trustworthy and maintain confidentiality
Must love dogs!
