Job Description Job Title, Digital Transformation Manager Line Manager About GPSU,The GP Support Unit GPSU exists to champion, support, and amplify general practice in Somerset. Acting as an extension of the practice team, we help GPs and primary care professionals navigate challenges, embrace innovation, and thrive. Through collaboration, shared expertise, and hands-on support, we deliver high-quality services that reduce burden, unlock system value, and ultimately improve patient outcomes. Trusted by practices and recognised across the Somerset system, the GPSU is here to make general practice stronger - now and into the future. About the Role: Drive service delivery improvements and system enhancements within practices and PCNs across Somerset. Collaborate with GP practices, PCNs, and key partners to identify digital priorities and challenges, promote innovation, implement new technology solutions and optimise existing systems. Build strong relationships with system providers and stakeholders, manage projects, and foster continuous improvement in utilisation of digital technology in general practice in Somerset. Key Responsibilities: Project & Stakeholder Management: Lead digital transformation projects, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities, define project goals, and support local transformation plans. Oversee IT project execution, tracking risks, issues, and progress. Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders. Service Delivery & System Support: Review and advise on system support, compliance standards, and best practices for digital continuity and disaster recovery. Ensure continuous availability and improvement of clinical systems e.g., EMIS Web. Facilitate staff learning sessions to improve system usage and digital competencies. Contract & Vendor Management: Optimise digital service contracts to meet agreed standards. Collaborate with vendors to resolve technical issues and maintain system performance. Governance & Compliance: Ensure compliance with Data Security and Protection Toolkit DSPT and Digital Technology Assessment Criteria DTAC. Maintain documentation on project actions, risks, and clinical safety signoffs. Data & Reporting: Support data-driven improvements by optimising digital tools for reporting and analysis. Promote standardisation of coding, data sets and metrics to track progress. Policy & Service Requirements: Work collaboratively and effectively as part of an integrated team. Stay up to date with National and Local legislation, guidelines, policies, procedures, protocols, and code of conduct related to the role. Participate in and contribute to the effective introduction of new systems and initiatives leading to the improvement and development of patient services.
