More detail about the role We are looking for a motivated and dynamic individual to enhance our current cancer nurse specialist service, providing expert support and nurse/ practitioner led interventions for Urology Oncology patients. This post will involve working closely with other Urology cancer nurse specialists and allied health professionals, oncology teams, Urologists and Oncologists to provide seamless supportive care for patients with metastatic bladder, metastatic renal cancer and patients with penile cancers. There has been an increase in the number of treatment options available and offered to metastatic cancer patients who often have complex needs and follow up regimes. The post holder will therefore need to have experience in managing a case load of patients within a cancer speciality (ideally experience of caring for patients with bladder/renal cancers). Their job plan will include attendance at Multidisciplinary meetings, nurse/ practitioner led clinics, supporting inpatients and those attending Consultant/ therapy appointments. The post holder will be responsible for arranging onward referrals and investigations as appropriate as well as signposting patients to agencies for benefits and financial advice, lifestyle and well being adjustments. This post will involve some travelling between hospital sites (mainly Ottery St Mary and Royal Devon and Exeter (Wonford).
