A young man (17) is looking for a supportive and engaging Personal Assistant. He would like a PA to help him with his independence skills away from home and provide gentle encouragement to engage with people in different environments. He enjoys computer games and would enjoy a trip into town to the gaming shop and he would also enjoy a trip to the cinema, going swimming or bowling. He has ASD and can take a little time to warm to new people but once the relationship is established, he is a warm, funny, and friendly young person. He is registered blind so the PA will need to put measures in place to ensure his safety.
If you feel you could offer a friendly, re-assuring support to a young person for a few hours per week, please apply.
“Owing to the nature of this position, any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory checking report from the Disclosure and Barring Service, the cost of which will be met by the local authority/employer.”
