Are you a skilled and compassionate physiotherapist looking for flexible work in a fast paced, rewarding environment? We are currently seeking motivated and experienced bank inpatient physiotherapists to join our Inpatient therapy team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals, providing cover for staff absences and supporting service demand.
The successful candidate is required to be able to demonstrate the Trust values, the responsibilities of the job description and person specification. You should have proven experience of working in the following areas of orthopaedics, acute medicine and frailty, respiratory. neurology and emergency department.

• To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner whilst facilitating effective multidisciplinary care within relevant clinical areas. The areas are orthopaedics, neurology, acute medicine and frailty, respiratory and surgery ,and Emergency department.
• To work in an integrated therapy team including other physiotherapists, occupational therapists, dieticians, speech and language therapists, therapy support workers and administration support.
• To provide an advanced standard of physiotherapy assessment and treatment to inpatients without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from a team lead is available as and when required. Clinical work is routinely evaluated.
• To work with patient’s families or carers to provide an advanced level of support, education and expectation of the outcome of the inpatient stay.
• To supervise, teach and appraise Band 5 physiotherapists and support workers.
• To participate in Continuing Professional Development, evidence – based audit and research projects that will enhance the service.

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1.To be professional, legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work, including the management of patients in your care and support more junior staff to do likewise.
2.To undertake comprehensive assessments of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations or multiple pathologies, using clinical reasoning skills and a variety of assessment techniques to provide an accurate analysis of their condition.
3.To be able to analyse clinical and social information from a range of sources and integrate this into your assessment in order to identify goals, develop a treatment plan and deliver patient centred care.
4.To deliver effective, evidence based physiotherapy treatment that is modified to reflect the patient’s on-going needs.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR PATIENTS
1.To be responsible for own practice and accountable for all aspects of physiotherapy treatment and care delivered to the patient.
2.To be responsible for maintaining evidence based clinical practice both for self and band five physiotherapist /support worker members of the team under supervision.
3.To be able to motivate and persuade patients with a range of conditions to work with treatment programmes and work towards treatment goals.
4.To organise and lead family meetings and case conferences as required in order to facilitate realistic goal setting and appropriate discharge planning.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR POLICY AND SERVICE DEVELOPMENT
1.To ensure compliance with NHS, Trust, professional body (HCPC / CSP) and Departmental policies and procedures as an individual and by band 5 physiotherapists /support workers under supervision.
2.To be responsible for organising and planning own caseload to meet service needs and patient priorities, readjusting plans as situations change/arise, on a day-to-day basis. To assist band 5 physiotherapy / support worker staff to do likewise.
3.To ensure that appropriate risk assessment/management occurs within designated area, reporting back to senior.
4.To work on any of the Trust sites as requested.
