EPUT is looking to appoint enthusiastic and passionate LAS Trust Grade doctors who will provide consistent, high quality Medical Psychiatric support to the Inpatient and Community teams within EPUT basedacross Trust locations in Essex.

These posts cover a range of specialties within Psychiatry and an example job description is attached.Career development will be encouraged and supported with opportunities to develop expertise in all areas of Psychiatry.

The post holder will be expected to work in a multidisciplinary team (MDT) consisting of Consultant Psychiatrists, Psychiatric Nurses, Social workers, Psychologist, Occupational Therapist and Pharmacist. The post holder will have shared responsibility for the clinical care of those patients referred to the team and will be expected to work closely with the consultants and team manager to ensure the provision of an effective service.



Career development will be encouraged and supported with opportunities to develop expertise in all areas of Psychiatry.

You must hold full GMC registration.

1. Observe the Trust’s agreed policies and procedures.

2. Provide, with consultant colleagues, a service in the specialty for the Trust with responsibility for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of illness, and the proper functioning of the department.

3. Honour out-of-hours responsibilities, including rota commitments where contracted.

4. Provide agreed cover for colleague’s periods of leave.

5. Participate in audit and continuing medical education.

6. Have shared responsibility for clinical care of those patients referred to the team and will be expected to work closely with the consultants and team manager to ensure the provision of an effective service.

7. Be involved in research and teaching where appropriate.
