About the Role:
We’re looking for a calm, creative and reliable Personal Assistant to support our son, an imaginative and energetic 8-year-old autistic boy. He thrives with predictability, emotional attunement, and engaging activities that follow his interests. This role involves one-on-one time in the home or out in the community, helping him feel safe, empowered, and able to enjoy his time on his own terms. He's extraverted, hilarious, curious and playful, and we'd love his personal assistant to help his world grow a little larger.

Key Responsibilities:
• Spend quality time with our son, helping him access joyful, low-pressure activities (e.g. reading, drawing, music, nature, storytelling),
• Support emotional regulation using calm, neurodivergent-affirming approaches,
• Build a trusting, consistent relationship that supports his confidence and autonomy,
• Collaborate with family members to ensure comfort and consistency,
• Respect his communication preferences and sensory needs at all times

The Ideal Candidate:
• Has experience supporting neurodivergent children or young people
• Will be physically fit enough to keep up with an energetic 8 year old
• Is emotionally intelligent, patient, and attuned to non-verbal cues

• Embraces neurodiversity and values consent, play, and autonomy

• Is dependable, flexible, and open to learning

• PVG membership required (or willingness to join the scheme) Employer will cover this cost.

Hours and Flexibility:
4 hours per week during term time (e.g., afternoons, evenings, or weekends).
8 hours per week during school holidays (timings flexible).
Schedule can be arranged around mutual availability.
