What skills and experience we're looking for
The role of a DT Technician across our Academy is to promote the learning and practical development of students by providing essential technical and practical support to students and staff, under the direction of the class teacher and subject leader.
You'll work in close collaboration with our Design & Technology teaching body to facilitate the delivery of the current curriculum, ensuring all students can effectively engage with practical tasks and projects. In this role, you'll be expected to support with the management of equipment and resources within the workshop, as well as assist with whole-class practical exercises, and provide one-on-one or small-group guidance on the safe and effective use of tools and machinery.
We are looking for an individual who has high aspirations for students' practical skills and creative problem-solving abilities. You should be committed and passionate about design, technology, and hands-on learning, possessing the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and share our single goal of 'Students First'.
