  • Rediscover Your Passion for Teaching Maths? Make a Profound Difference in Woking - SEMH Focus

Feeling the strain of mainstream teaching? Are you an experienced Mathematics specialist craving an environment where you can truly teach the child, build deep connections, and see the direct impact of your work every day?

Join our independent specialist school in Woking. We offer a therapeutic, child-centred education for students (11-17 years) with SEMH needs and often co-occurring SEND. Forget the one-size-fits-all approach. Here, you'll have the autonomy, small class sizes, and dedicated TA support to genuinely tailor learning, foster positive relationships, and help vulnerable young people re-engage with education and believe in themselves. Our entire approach is trauma and attachment-informed, with comprehensive training provided.

The Role You've Been Looking For:

    • Deliver engaging Mathematics (Entry Level to GCSE) to students who will challenge and reward you in equal measure.
    • Utilise your experience to create awe and wonder in Maths, making it real and relevant.
    • Benefit from a truly collaborative environment where your expertise in behaviour management is valued and supported by a therapeutic framework.
    • Play a key role in curriculum development and school-wide decision-making.

    Are You This Teacher?

    • A qualified Mathematics teacher with proven experience.
    • Someone who believes teaching is about connection and understanding, not just curriculum delivery.
    • Ready to apply your skills in a specialist setting, or have existing SEMH/SEND experience.
    • Empathetic, patient, and non-judgemental, with strong skills in managing challenging behaviours constructively.

    Why Make the Change?

    • Real Impact: See the tangible difference you make daily in a less data-driven, more child-focused setting.
    • Supportive Culture: Extensive therapeutic training, regular supervision, and a team that truly collaborates.
    • Smaller Scale, Bigger Focus: Small classes and dedicated TA support allow for personalised teaching.
    • Valued & Rewarded: Competitive benefits including enhanced sickness pay, life assurance, MediCash, service awards, and more.
