The Best Connection are actively seeking a Trainee Laboratory Technician to work for our client who are the leading provider of products and services for individuals with chronic kidney failure based in Huthwaite, Sutton in Ashfield!!

PLEASE NOTE YOU MUST BE OVER 18 YEARS OLD TO APPLY FOR THIS ROLE!

This role is for candidates with Science GCSE/A Levels, or minimal experience in laboratory-based roles, who are looking to start and build their experience in the scientific field!!

Responsibilities: To be responsible for the documenting, sampling, testing and release of all incoming materials To apply the necessary aseptic techniques to ensure that contamination does not occur during the sampling and testing of the samples due to Laboratory error To carry out testing and calibration of samples and equipment from outside sources and produce relevant reports and certificates of calibration. Also, to conduct all in-house calibrations at their required due date and record on appropriate log sheets and database. To ensure that Laboratories and equipment are kept in a clean and tidy condition and to dispose of all waste according to training manual To conduct release of product, ensuring that the product has been manufactured in accordance with internal defined processes and procedures To perform chemical and microbiological projects, validations and investigations as required, and to report all out of line/specification results to the appropriate person Qualities and Qualifications: Minimum GCSE passes within Maths and Science Any experience in laboratories is a bonus, but candidates with masses of experience may be over qualified for this role, as the position is for someone looking to start their career as a laboratory technician! Training will be provided for this role; however, we are looking for an individual who: is self-motivated; is a team player; possesses the ability to prioritise; has an all-round interest in the scientific sector. Working Hours & Pay Rate: Weekly rotating shifts: 0630-1430 (Monday to Friday) & 0800-1600 (Monday to Friday) £12.50 per hour A full CV will be required to be put forward for this role, and an interview process!
