St George’s CE Primary School Governors are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant (BSL level trained) to join our school and work 1-1 with a deaf child in year 2 (Sept. 25)
Main duties of this role will involve:
Supporting a KS1 deaf pupil within a mainstream setting.
Teaching of BSL to the deaf pupil and leading a 15 minute daily BSL session to the pupil's peers.
One to one daily sessions in a distraction-free area of the school to deliver teaching of English and Maths targets
Liaising with the Teacher of the Deaf on a weekly basis initially.
Supporting the deaf pupil throughout their primary education.
Essentials
BSL Level 3 (minimum)
Willingness to complete TA2 qualification if not already in place
Experience working with children
Desirables
Experience working with deaf children
TA2 qualification
