We are seeking an ambitious, self-motivated Technical Support Officer who can bring new experience and knowledge into our team, to assist in delivery of our Highway Licensing Activities.
As a Technical Support Officer, your primary purpose will be to process the Greater Manchester Road Activity Permit Scheme (GMRAPS) applications and licenses effectively and accurately by ensuring that all data regarding works in relation to Highway Permitting & Licensing is collected and recorded.
Schedule works within defined priorities and work within the strict deadlines set within the GMRAPS scheme as also in New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
Check, process and record all applications made in relation to Highway Permitting and licensing.
Management of the charges apportioned by the Highway & Permitting team in accordance with current Permitting & Licensing fees set by the council and manage all internal processes associated with highway income and ensuring that any outstanding Highway permit/licence fees are paid.
Generate and record agreed charges for fixed penalty notices apportioned by the Highway Licensing & Permitting team. Liaise directly with private contractors in relation to GMRAPS permit applications submitted that may require clarification/amendments. Escalation of any non-compliance to the Senior Licensing Officer with supporting evidence and documentation. From time to time the Technical Support Officer shall cover for other Technical Support Officers within the team.
