Scale 6 (£30,559 - £32,654) this role is eligible for an Essential Car User allowance of up to £963 per annum

Permanent
Stopford House when required but will also be on site carrying out inspections and arranging / overseeing work.

Your Role

We are seeking to appoint an Engineer with some experience of street lighting project delivery and general maintenance work. The successful candidate will have experience of working with a GIS system. Responsibilities will include the recording of site activities, overseeing contractors work, providing solutions for day to day issues and assisting with the delivery of reactive, routine and planned maintenance services.

About You

We are looking for applicants who are willing to learn new skills and develop their knowledge in this area. The successful applicant will show some evidence of the following qualities:-

  • An awareness of street lighting scheme delivery
  • Knowledge of reactive and routine street lighting maintenance activities
  • Ability to work with Contractors and Utility companies
  • Respond effectively to enquiries and complaints
  • An awareness of street lighting & sign condition inspections / testing
  • Have a basic understanding of lighting and sign design specification and materials used
  • Work with a GIS system
  • Awareness of CDM Regulations
  • Generally understand the basics of street lighting mains supply
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Have completed a G39 training course safe working in the vicinity of DNO/IDNO equipment

About Us

Working as part of the Network Asset Maintenance service you will be involved in the following..

  • LED Retro-fit project plus street lighting reactive / routine maintenance
  • Street Lighting column replacement and sleeving work
  • Lighting on section 38/278 development and improvement schemes

  • Asset Management System: Pitney Bowes - Confirm System, Confirm Mobile
  • Mapping Information: QGIS
  • Other: Microsoft Software Suite
