Location: Canada Water, Southwark
Pay Rate: £25-£35 per hour
Job Type: Temporary | Part-Time | Flexible Hours- choose between morning, noon or evening sessions.
We work alongside Southwark council to assist them in providing tuition support for children in and around Canada Water who need extra help to achieve their grades with their GCSE studies and someone to help them build their academic confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, curriculum- aligned tuition in GCSE-level Maths, English or Science.
- Plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons based on individual learning needs.
- Monitor progress, set goals , and provide constructive feedback.
- Support learners who may need additional help or have SEN requirements.
- Foster a supportive and motivating environment to help students gain confidence and achieve academic goals.
We offer learning materials via our Tutor portal to assist you in planning your lessons and also have our learning and delivery manager on hand to support you with your sessions if needed!
Requirements:
- QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or PGCE in Secondary Education or core subject- essential.
- Minimum 1 year teaching or tutoring experience at secondary level.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.
Desired:
- Experience supporting students with SEN or additional learning needs.
- Confidence teaching Functional Skills or alternative curriculum pathways.
