Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum?
A supportive and inclusive primary school in Great Barr is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their Year 2 team in September. This role will be key in supporting pupils as they prepare for their end-of-year assessments and their upcoming transition into Key Stage Two.
About the Role:
You will work closely with the class teacher to support the delivery of whole class learning, assist SEN students within the classroom when needed, and provide additional support to smaller groups of pupils working below age expectations. Your role will be crucial in helping all children make progress and feel confident ahead of their transition to KS2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher with the delivery of engaging whole class learning
- Provide tailored support for SEN pupils when required
- Work with small groups of children working below age-related expectations
- Support pupils with their end-of-year assessments and academic readiness for KS2
- Communicate effectively with the class teacher about pupil progress and areas for development
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience working within a school environment is essential
- Previous experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils
- Familiarity with the KS1 curriculum, including assessment preparation
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly with teachers
- Confident, patient, and supportive approach to learning
