Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to joint to a busy, supportive, and dynamic multidisciplinary in/outpatient service serving South London and Maudsley and the successful candidate will work closely with the Senior Administrator, Administrator, Ward Manager, Business Manager and other team members, providing top-tier housekeeping support.
The postholder will work as an integral part of the ward team and be responsible for thecoordinationofallclientfacilitiesservicesinthewardareaensuringaclean,safeandcomfortableenvironment.
The main elements of the role are ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of cleaning, catering,maintenance, laundry, together with other specified tasks to meet individual client needs asdeterminedbythewardmanager/shiftco-ordinator.
The postholder will be required to work closely with contractors and support service departmentsandmonitorqualitystandards,reportdeficienciesandensurerequestedworkiscompleted.
To carry out Quality Audits on the ward.
Toensurespillagesaredealtwithswiftlyandefficiently.
To ensure the ward is safe and tidy at all times.
Liaise with the domestic department for arranging deep cleaning when requested.
To order meals/catering requirements for patients.
To ensure the daily menu is displayed correctly. Assist clients in ordering food.
To update catering with requirements for special diets.
To co-ordinate extra meal requirements that mayarise.
Ensure the dining area is a pleasant environment and tables are laid with condiments, cutlery andcrockerywhereappropriateensuring thewardkitchenis cleanandtidy.
Order hardware, crockery and cutlery and monitor usage.
Contact laundry when supplies are running low. Keep linen and laundry room tidy, obtainingcleanlaundrywhenrequired.
To manage the ward's work requisition log, reporting all defects and closing downwhen completed.
To co-ordinate other ad-hoc maintenance.
To respect the privacy and dignity of clients whilst carrying out housekeeping duties.
Organise the storageofclient’sproperty including left property.
To support the Ward manager in maintaining Health and Safety on the ward.
To welcomeandguidevisitorsontheward,liaisingwith appropriate staff and maintainingconfidentiality.
To assist with training staff regarding housekeeping services.
Tobeawareof newfoodhygienestandards.
To ensure meeting rooms are clean, tidy and prepared prior to use.

As our patients may be a long way from home, we aim to make admissions as short as possible and communicate regularly with carers, the referring team and CCGs or CSUs to plan care and facilitate timely discharge.
Cleaning
To carry out Quality Audits in all areas of the ward reporting directly back to the domestic supervisorandwardmanager.
Toensurespillagesaredealtwithswiftlyandefficiently.
To ensure the ward is safe and tidy at all times e.g. remove clutter, tidy notice boards and removeanyoldinformation.
Liaise with the domestic department for arranging deep cleaning of surfaces and furnishings,informingthemwhenbedroomsneedtobecleanedfollowingdischarges.
Catering
To order meals/catering requirements for patients.To ensure the daily menu is displayed correctly.Assist clients in ordering food and where necessary taking into account special needs and dietaryrequirements.
To support the hostess in the meal service in conjunction with the nursing team, ensuring client’sdietaryneedsaremet.
To ensure all food and beverages are served at the correct temperature according to food hygieneregulations.
To update catering with requirements for special diets. To co-ordinate extra meal requirements thatmayarise.
Ensure the dining area is a pleasant environment and tables are laid with condiment pots, cutleryandcrockerywhereappropriate.
Toensurethewardkitcheniskept cleanandtidyatall times.
Order ward issues and monitor the use of these. Order hardware, crockery and cutlery and monitortheuseofthese.
Laundry
Contact laundry when supplies are running low. Keep linen and laundry room tidy. Assist clients inobtainingcleanlaundrywhenrequired.
MaintainingtheEnvironment

HealthandSafety
To support the Ward manager in maintaining Health and Safety requirements on the ward inaccordance with the Trust Health & Safety Policy and to follow up as required.Record all Health &SafetyauditsonAssessnet.
General
