UK Power Networks is seeking a Project Engineer/SAP to join our dynamic Capital Programme - Investment Delivery team based in Colchester covering our Eastern regions. Your role will be pivotal in delivering engineering activities within your allocated project team. You will undertake the delivery of construction requirements relating to UK Power Networks owned assets and associated infrastructure under the direction of the Lead Project Engineer or Construction Manager. You will work closely with Programme Managers, Project Managers, Commissioning Engineers, Alliance Partners, Contractors, and other members of the Investment Delivery Management team to achieve our goals.

You will ensure the delivery of capital works construction projects, APP, and Connections, overseeing the management of substation and associated works. Your commitment to safety management will be integral in maintaining the UK Power Networks Stay Safe initiative throughout all activities during the delivery of engineering tasks.

Key responsibilities include delivering construction programmes for UK Power Networks owned assets operating at voltages through the range LV to 132kV, managing budgets and ensuring compliance with CDM and UK Power Networks Health and Safety policies. You will operate and update the asset database, perform fault investigation and repairs, modify equipment and drawings, and oversee all contractors and staff working on site.

To be successful in this role, you must be a Senior Authorised Person as defined by the Distribution Safety Rules, preferably 132kV, and hold a minimum HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. A working knowledge of distribution HV systems, the ability to read schematic drawings, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite are essential.
