Make a lasting impact – not just on buildings, but on lives.
At Wilderness Way, we don’t just maintain properties – we create safe, nurturing spaces where vulnerable children can heal, grow, and thrive. As a leading provider of trauma-informed residential care, our homes are at the heart of everything we do – and we’re looking for someone special to help lead the charge in the Northeast.
We’re on the hunt for a proactive, people-focused Estates and Facilities Manager to oversee our growing property portfolio. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our homes are safe, compliant, and well-maintained – supporting the highest standards of care for the children we support.
What you’ll do:
- Lead our in-house maintenance team and manage daily operations
- Drive health & safety and statutory compliance across all sites
- Coordinate contractors and construction projects, ensuring quality and safety
- Support the mobilisation of new homes as we expand
- Champion a culture of safety and proactive maintenance
- Contribute to long-term facilities planning and compliance strategy
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a strong background in estates/facilities management and health & safety
- Brings experience in managing teams and contractors
- Is well-versed in UK H&S legislation, CDM, and compliance best practices
- Thrives in a fast-paced, change-driven environment
- Can work collaboratively across multiple sites, with great communication and leadership skills
You’ll need:
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
- Relevant H&S or FM qualifications
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- A passion for making spaces safe, functional, and truly child-friendly
Why join us?
This isn’t just a property role – it’s your chance to help shape the future of services that truly change lives. You’ll work with passionate people, see the impact of your work every day, and be part of a company that puts children, care, and safety first.
